Meet Sergio Galán!

Sergio Galán has been working with sculpture since 1979, experimenting with materials to develop an original technique through cutting, carving, polishing, assembling, and welding. His work is intuitive and does not aim to elaborate on complex ideas, but rather evoke ceremonial objects from tribal cultures and extinct cities.

Sergio attends to the formal solution of each piece, creating a sketch and then surrendering to the pleasure of working directly with the material. The result is capable of summoning in the viewer a silent experience, a sensation of confusion and connection, much like an archaeological piece might evoke.
